Review

Go for the 1.0 TSI 95 SE model and you'll have bought a very fine, practical small SUV for a sensible price. Don't be tempted to go for higher trims and more powerful engines, because if you have that kind of money to spend we'd recommend looking at the T-Roc instead – it's only slightly more expensive and more sophisticated in many areas. The excellent Ford Puma is also more fun to drive.

SE trim adds 17in alloys, adaptive cruise control, a second USB charging port, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic wipers and a leather-wrapped steering wheel to everything you get with entry-level S trim. It's our pick of the range.

As well as an extra gear, the 1.0 TSI 115 offers slightly faster acceleration than the 1.0 TSI 95, but the difference isn't huge so we'd be tempted to save the money.
