Used Volkswagen Touareg 2018-present review

Review continues below...

What alternatives should I consider to a used Volkswagen Touareg 4x4?

The Audi Q7 has long been a favourite of ours, because it just simply covers all the bases far better than any other luxury SUV. Its interior is a triumph, its refinement is top notch and its fuel economy is surprisingly good considering it’s such a hefty beast.

If you’re after a premium SUV and are prepared to buy something a little older, take a look at a Porsche Cayenne. The previous-generation Cayenne is quick, very luxurious and surprisingly good to drive given its height and bulk. Plus, it has the prestige of the Porsche badge.

Disappointing interior quality aside, the Volkswagen Touareg is a very capable used luxury SUV. However, there are more practical rivals with seven seats, such as the Audi Q7

  • Excellent towing capabilities
  • Spacious interior
  • Standard safety tech
  • Gearbox can be hesitant
  • Not a seven-seater
  • Some cheap-feeling interior plastics
