If you’re sold on the looks and can accept the practicality penalties of the Volvo C40, it stacks up well compared with its immediate competition, especially on performance. It’s also a refined and pleasant electric car to drive, justifying its premium billing. The regular Volvo XC40 Recharge offers similar performance and is a better all-rounder, though, so we’d recommend going for that instead.
