The one I've got is a silver s reg 1998 2435cc GT. I bought it from a garage in May 2007. Having looked at it on the forecourt, I simply had to have it. As far as practicality goes, frankly it isn't, but that's not why you buy a car like this, is it? Having previously owned cheap Vauxhall and Ford cars, this was a revelation. It is impressive to look at, and because I've got one with the optional sports suspension, it handles with aplomb round fast corners. There appears to be no slip, and I've still not found its limit yet. Whilst it probably won't out-accelerate a lot of modern hot hatches and the rest, who cares! Just look at it, sit in the comfy heated leather seats, listen to the Dolby surround sound, or just listen to the engine. It does truly put a smile on your face. To sum up: it's a GT car designed for fast long distance journeys. You buy it because you have taste, rather than just a need for speed. It's at its best on fast A/B roads or the motorway. Around town, don't expect much more than 25mpg. The sports suspension gives it great handling, but it doesn't like our typically pathetic pot-holed town roads. There's loads of room on the back seats, if you can get in and out. It's a car you buy with your heart, but you still don't regret it.
