So it's exciting that the French company has carried the design philosophy that led to their creation to the upcoming 508 saloon.
It will be offered at launch with petrol and diesel engines, along with optional adaptive suspension. A plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model will join later and will prove beneficial to drivers of company cars and taxis – as will the significantly larger boot.
Inside, the 508 has Peugeot's still-futuristic i-Cockpit design, with its sculpted surfaces, tiny steering wheel, 12.3in digital instrument display and 8.0in infotainment touchscreen. Other interior features include massaging front seats and panoramic glass roof.
The new 508 is due in showrooms in September, priced from around £26,000.
