Our verdict

The Giulia Quadrifoglio is a fine performance saloon. You’ll appreciate its more cosseting ride and quieter cruising manners, if not its patchy interior quality and prodigious thirst. Plus, it’s great fun on a winding road.

However, it has to take second place here. The C63 is a much better car than it was when we last tested it, hardwiring you into the road surface to give a truly thrilling and engaging driving experience without being so firm-riding as to be uncomfortable.

Granted, it’s quite a bit more expensive to buy and run than the Giulia, but factor in its classier interior, bigger boot and superior infotainment system and the C63 is worth the additional cost.
