What should I look for in a used Renault Kadjar?
The Renault Kadjar is popular with families, so you should check the rear seats for any damage caused by child seats, and the backs of the front seats for scuff marks, because the occupants of those child seats might have taken their frustration out on them through kicking. You should also check the rear bumper for scratches caused by buggies being lifted in and out.

Few reliability problems have been reported with the Kadjar, except for niggly faults with the infotainment system. If you are buying your Kadjar through Renault’s approved used scheme, check that your potential purchase has had all the latest software updates.
It is also worth noting that Renault doesn’t do quite as well as its rivals in terms of overall reliability. On the plus side, though, the Kadjar was offered from new with a four-year warranty, so even the earliest versions will still have some of the original manufacturer's warranty cover left on it.

Is a used Renault Kadjar reliable?
The Kadjar came in 21st place out of 34 cars in the family SUV class in our most recent reliability survey, with a good overall score of 92%. This placed it above the Jaguar E-Pace and Peugeot 3008 but below the 2014-2021 Nissan Qashqai and the Volvo Xc40.
Renault, as a car brand, came 23rd out of 32 manufacturers: above Audi and Jaguar but below Peugeot and Skoda, albeit with a reasonable score of 90%.
From new, Renault offered a three-year/100,000-miles warranty on the Kadjar.
Used Renault Kadjar: owners' reliability data
A common thread among reader responses relate to electrical and battery-related issues. Several owners reported problems with charging systems and battery management, which sometimes required multiple dealership visits to resolve.
Feedback on the dealer service was varied: while some praised their local dealership for attentive and professional service, others felt frustrated by slow service and a lack of clear communication regarding repairs. Despite these challenges, we've still heard from many readers that are satisfied with their Kadjar, particularly because it's affordable to run.
