Toyota Prius 2012

Prices for the 2012 Toyota Prius have been revealed. The updated hybrid model has a range of cosmetic changes and goes on sale on March 1, from £21,350.

The 2012 Prius gets a new-look front end, with redesigned headlamp bezels, bumper and grille. New Dark Blue and Cabernet Red paint options are available.

Inside, there are new, darker dashboard materials, while T Spirit versions have new black seat trim. The centre console and air vents gain new metallic inserts, and the starter button is now illuminated in blue.

Wider front seats are designed to improve comfort, while a new centre console storage area incorporates a built-in cupholder and more convenient USP and auxiliary input sockets.

The 2012 Toyota Prius range has the same line-up as the current car, with a choice of T3, T4 and T Spirit models. All versions now come with a new touch-screen entertainment system.

Extra kit for T3 trim includes LED daytime running lights and a folding function for the electric door mirrors. T4 models gain a new eight-speaker JBL stereo, while T Spirit cars add water-repellent glass, automatic LED headlamps and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror.

All versions have the same hybrid powertrain as before, which combines an electric motor with a 1.8-litre petrol engine. Prices have risen by between £295 and £335.
