Hyundai's i40 saloon will cost from £17,395 when it goes on sale in January.
The new car will come with a choice of three engines – a 1.6 petrol and two 1.7 diesels – and three trims: Active, Style and Premium.
An automatic gearbox is available as an option on the higher-powered diesel engine.
Standard equipment includes 16-inch alloy wheels, electric heated door mirrors, Bluetooth and an electronic parking brake. Satellite-navigation, a rear parking camera, leather upholstery and keyless entry are included on higher-spec models, while a lane-departure warning system and ventilated front seats are available as options.
All i40 saloons will have seven airbags as standard, along with traction and stability controls and hill-start assist.
Versions with Blue Drive technology get an engine stop-start system as standard, which helps peg CO2 emissions to below 120g/km.
