Infiniti etherea

This is Infiniti's Etherea concept car, which will be unveiled at the Geneva motor show next month.

Infiniti says the Etherea showcases what a new entry-level model could look like and has elements of a 'coupe, saloon, hatchback and even crossover'.

It's 4.4 metres long, but Infiniti says it's practical and 'space efficient' thanks to a new mechanical layout.

The company also says the Etherea concept car will have 'innovative access arrangements', which means it will have interesting doors – perhaps rear-hinged like the rear doors found on the Mazda RX-8.

There's a motif on the front door that suggests the Etherea is a hybrid car.

If the car is built, don't expect to see it before 2014. Infiniti is expected to launch its version of the Nissan Leaf next year.
