A word of warning to anyone speccing their Mégane Renaultsport with the optional Recaro front seats: they effectively turn the car into a two-seater.

A horizontal bar runs along the bottom of the seats, just where your rear passengers’ feet would otherwise go, so if your seats are in their lowest position those in the rear will either have to wedge their feet between the bar and the seat base, or sit with them splayed on the floor.

Still, I love them. They’re expensive at £1225 (trimmed in leather), but are as supportive as the car is grippy, plus they’re comfortable and look great.
