While the car is generally very good the overall effect is ruined by the amount of road noise that reaches the cabin - compared to my previous Focus TDCi Estate this car is unacceptably noisy at all speed levels. This appears to be tyre noise as I was able to compare it with the estate in a free wheel test. Our local mototing journalists appear to be dodging the issue as they refuse to go to print on it.
Make sure you wear a watch in this car,the clock is useless, you can not reset it yourself. Have had it reset by "ford engineers" half a dozen times and it lasts about ten minutes. I have now given up and have a travel clock stuck on the dash! I can't reach the storage tray on the front dash without straining my shoulder, the dash is about 3 foot deep! I have also experienced excessive wear on front tyres, it has just failed it's first mot for this very reason. Otherwise it has been a good car and is quite nifty once it gets going. Electric brake took some getting used to but quite like it now. Overall, been nice to know ya - 6 out of 10.
I have had this car from new and for the first 12 months it was unbelievable. There were a few small problems, recalls etc. But the main issue was brake failure, which after 3 attempts by the dealer was Identified as a trapped servo hose? My frustration was really due to the poor customer service I recieved at my local dealership from where I bought my car, basically they were not bothered, absolutely disgracefull! However back to the car, I have to say that since the initial problems the car has been good, economy and performance for this type of car are excellent, best by far for this range of MPV.
Mine was a 1.6CVT. Avoid these cars. I eventually sold mine back to the dealer, losing £4000 in the process. The car intermittently ran out of power: the Ford dealer I bought it from couldn't fix it, despite Ford Technical's involvement.
The car had a new engine and spent 1.5 months of our six-month ownership in the garage.
Ford clearly has a problem - they have chosen not to resolve it.
The car was lovely when it ran, but we eventually couldn't trust it not to stop working in front of articulated lorries.
I will not buy Ford again. Warn your friends.
