    My car

I bought the MGTF 160 eight months ago and it has been back to the garage repeatedly.

I feel strongly about the poor build quality of this car and I ahev found MG far less than helpful.

    My car

Fun car to drive and looks great - definitley a head turner. Having the optional sports pack makes the car handle well but also makes for a very bumpy ride. For taller people like myself the shorter rides are more comfortable but thankfully it's only used as a town car, so the rides are always short!

    My car

My girlfriend has recently bought a MGF Trophy 160.

Having always been a fan of the look of the MGF, I think the new shape also lives up to the expectation. It offers great looks, a chunky presence and a really sporty feel.

The performance is what this car delivers in bags, forget the lack of equipment on the lower models marking this car down. If you go for a higher spec, you get the kit, the looks and the performance.

This car will happily destroy Audi TT 150s and MR2s and makes an MX5 look like average. If you are looking for a true British sportscar, stay loyal to MG and get yourself one!!

It is cheap to run and not bad to insure, and the review of the MGF overall seems a little harsh, if you compare the higher end cars.

160 BHP and 0-60 in under 7sec should say it all!!

Great fun, a pleasure to drive and own.

    My car

The Special Edition version I drive provides a much better level of equipment and trim for the money.

Many reports criticise the handling and ride but I have found these to be much better than I expected. It is perhaps less demanding to drive than an MR2, but I believe it delivers a better combination for the average driver. There is plenty of power and so overtaking is easy and safe.

The car feels well put together, with no rattles or squeaks the quality of finish all round is very good. The hood is a pain though, putting it up and down means unzipping the rear window, which requires the driver to be a contortionist.

Once down, though, the car is very refined with conversation easily possible at 70 mph.

Running costs are very low for this type of car - I regularly get 40mpg from my 135.

Would I have another one? Yes, without doubt, and my wife is looking for her own version.
