This is my second Saab. The first, a Vector Sport estate gave me three years trouble free motoring. My present 93 convertable is a pure joy. Mega reliable, great to look at and most importantly of all...it is different. I like nothing more than siting at the lights next to an A4 convertable of 3 series convertable driver and thinking..you are just another sheep. Of course I could have had one of them also but I didn't want to appear just another German car driver. My Saab is great to drive, great to look at, great to own and I really couldn't want for anything else.
This was my 3rd Saab convertible , the combination of the New 93 with the twin turbo V6 should of made this a great car.
it was very upsetting to see that this car turned out to be the worse car i have ever had, (and at 34K the most expensive)
the trim kept coming off, the seats were as non saab as possible (uncomfortable) , it was unbearable to drive except for the very short journeys.
there was so much noise coming from it i had to have the radio on to attempt to drown out the rattles and squeeks
i have experienced better quality with christmas cracker toys !!!
there was a major problem with the car which the dealer (who had just changed hands) refused to do anything about unless i was going to pay £1000 upfront,
the final insult was when the 3 years was up and i discovered that it was sold on a personal loan and not a PCP as the first 2 were
so it cost me £300 to get rid of a 3 year old 15,000 mile car that i had paid 33 x £575 plus 2.5K deposit
the biggest waste of my money ever !!!
until saab make sure their dealers are up to it , i dont think there is much hope or future for the Brand
My review came up as 2.0t Linear - it's actually a 2.0t Vector - some major spec differences between the two - not least being leather is standard on Vector and not on Linear.
During the last 18 years I have had audi, vw, ford, honda, renault, peugot, bmw and ford cars. In 2005 I switched to my first saab and in 2007 took my first step into the convertible world. The time since then has been my most enjoyable period of driving. The seats are the most comfy in any car I have been in, the dash layout relaxing, and the drive is lovely. This is an open top tourer, not a pocket rocket, and it drives like a grand tourer. I always feel like a millionaire driving this car. Watching the rood go up or down still makes me feel like a boy with a new toy, and thrills anyone who watches it from across the whole age spectrum. It feels safe, solid and I have never had a car that draws so many genuinely good comments. It is totally my dream car, classy, not vulgar and above all a peaceful statement of true style in a world of very brash looking german cars. The mpg of the diesel engine is great on motorways at 48mpg but around town it drops to 29mpg which is not what they say in the books. But i can forgive one slight imperfection in such a wonderful car that makes me feel good every time i drive it.
I have owned my Boxster now since 6 month and I am very happy with the car. I went to a Porsche dealer because I always wanted to drive one of these…
I love this car! Handling is great, its fun to drive and even reasonably practical!
