Apple CarPlay is a seriously handy feature for anyone with an iPad or an iPhone, as it depicts everything on your device's screen on the car’s infotainment display.
Once you’ve connected your phone or tablet, you can effectively operate it using the main screen on the car’s dashboard, so you can make calls, use a GPS app or play music without touching the device itself.
It’s a big hit with car buyers and our list below tells you which cars are available with the system. Alternatively, Apple's list of supported cars can be found here.
You can get Apple CarPlay with the Abarth 595 and 695 hatchbacks.
The Bentley Bentayga SUV comes with Apple CarPlay.
BMW’s plug-in i3 and 2 Series hatchbacks are available with Apple CarPlay, as are the 3 Series, 5 Series and 7 Series saloons, the 4 Series and 6 Series coupes and convertibles and the X1, X2, X3, X4, X5 and X6 SUVs.
The C3 and C4 hatchbacks can be specified with Apple CarPlay. So too can the C3 Aircross, C4 Cactus and C5 Aircross SUVs and the Berlingo, C4 Spacetourer, and the Spacetourer SUVs, as was the C4 Picasso before its name changed to Spacetourer.
Lots of modern Ferraris are and were sold with Apple CarPlay, including the FF, the F12 tdf and F12 Berlinetta, the 488 GTB and Spider, the California T, the GTC4 Lusso, the 812 Superfast and the Portofino.
The Ford Fiesta, Focus and Mondeo hatchbacks (the latter two are also sold as estates) are available with Apple CarPlay, so are the Ecosport and Edge SUVs, the C-Max, MPV and the Mustang sports coupe.
Apple CarPlay is available with the i10, i30 and Ioniq hatchbacks, the i40 saloon and the Kona, Tucson and Santa Fe SUVs. Estate versions of the i30 and i40, known as Tourer, can also be ordered with it.
The A Class and B Class hatchbacks are available with Apple CarPlay, as is the E Class saloon and so are its cabriolet, coupe and estate variants. The CLA and CLS coupes and their Shooting Brake estate versions can also be ordered with it, as can the SL convertible and the GLA, GLE and GLS SUVs.
The RAV4 SUV has Apple CarPlay available, as will the forthcoming Corolla.
You can buy the Adam, Viva, Corsa, Astra and Insignia Grand Sport hatchbacks are available with Apple CarPlay, as well as the Mokka X and Crossland X SUVs and, finally, the Zafira Tourer MPV as a second-hand model.
The Polo, Golf, and Arteon hatchbacks can be specified with Apple CarPlay, as can the Passat saloon and estate, the Golf SV, Touran and Sharan MPVs and the T-Roc and Tiguan SUVs. Used models also available with it include the Beetle, the CC and the Scirocco.
