This is the new Fiat Panda 4x4, which will make its public debut at the 2012 Paris motor show, before going on sale in late 2012.
The Panda 4x4 shares most exterior panels with the other Panda models, but it has different bumpers and grilles, aluminium inserts, extended wheelarch trim and extra side cladding. Two new colours – Sicilia orange and Toscana green – are available.
New green dashboard trim is also available and there is special upholstery with 'eco-leather' details.
The Fiat Panda 4x4 has a permanent four-wheel drive system that uses sensors to assess how much grip is available and then automatically distribute power between the front and rear wheels accordingly.
There's also a stability control system as standard, which incorporates an Electronic Locking Differential that can brake individual wheels (below 31mph) to give maximum grip on slippery surfaces.

Engine options are a 0.9 Twinair petrol and a 1.3-litre Multijet diesel.
Prices and specifications for the Panda 4x4 are yet to be confirmed, but we'd expect the entry-level model to cost around £12,500, making it a key rival for the Dacia Duster.
Fiat will also unveil the Panda Trekking at the Paris show. It gets a 4x4-style makeover, but has front-wheel drive only.
