2015 BMW X6 revealed

The second generation of the BMW X6 coupe-cum-SUV has been revealed to the public at the Paris motor show. It is is larger inside and out than the outgoing model, and offers more power and improved efficiency.
What's new?
BMW has sought to boost the car's practicality; the rear seats split 40/20/40, while the overall luggage capacity has been improved by 75 litres to 1525 with all the seats folded.
The coupe-like styling and luxurious interior remain, but with improvements. It features a soft-touch dashboard and instrument surround, that features aluminium and gloss black details. The seats are in leather as standard, and are offered in a choice of six colours.
A 10.2-inch widescreen display with BMW's professional navigation system comes as standard, along with a multifunction sports steering wheel with gearshift paddles.
What engines can I choose from?
Three engines are available from launch, with another to follow shortly afterwards.
The bulk of sales are set to be made up of the 3.0-litre diesels. These are badged x30d and M50d and have 254bhp and 376bhp. The less-powerful car will emit 157g/km of CO2 and do an average of 47.1mpg, 15% better than the model it replaces. It'll do 0-62mph in 6.7 seconds, too. The M50d will emit 174g/km, and get from 0-62mph in 5.2 seconds.
The 443bhp 4.4-litre V8 petrol-powered xDrive50i is likely to be a rarer sight, despite it drinking 22% less fuel than the old car and emitting just 225g/km of CO2.
A six-cylinder, 309bhp diesel will join the range later in 2015, and will be badged the xDrive40d.
All the engines will come with an eight-speed automatic gearbox as standard.
How much equipment does it come with?
Kit levels are improved on all trim levels, including lane-departure warning, pedestrian-warning and collision-warning systems as standard.
The options list will be extensive. The Pure Extravagance interior and exterior design packs offer a huge variety of styling options, but for most buyers, the various security and safety packages are likely to be of more interest.
How much will it cost?
Prices for the new model start from £51,150, around £3000 dearer than the cheapest of the outgoing models. First on the forecourt are xDrive30d models, which appear in December.
