What car just doesnt seem to like the hilux, its easilly the best pickup in the class always has always will be. Firtst thing is independant mechanics advised the hilux as all the competion like the l200 have bad clutches, the navara has a weak engine according to one mechanic but they all had nothing but good comments about the hilux. Its the 2010 model with the facelift and the only options it regrettably doesnt have is sat nav and leather but even so the standard radio is very good and the seats are hard wearing, invincible trim comes with cruise control. Fuel economy is about 30mpg which is good for a machine this size, the engine is indeed vocal when its revved but its still not as loud or as gruff as a mk4 golf tdi revving. The controls are all chunky and hard wearing, and a pickup isnt the place for soft touch plastics hard stuff is easier cleaned, climate control looks better than 3 big knobs for the heater control and also means demisting is much easier. The dials are clear. Black is a bad colour if it gets scratched but with chrome side bars, and that chrome thing on the load bay, and the rear windows tinted its a good colour. It pulls trailers very well indeed, never stalls it just luggs on and on, ive pulled it up a few mucky hills and low range really is superb the torque really is noticeable in low range and it just grips as if its a track digger. Its loadbay is good even on the crewcab but i reccomend getting it lined, but overall its still the best pickup
I Looked at all the vehicles in this class and quite honestly not one came near I use the invincible every day. Around town I am getting 30 mpg and the performance is second to none. The ride is excellent and the cabin equipment is great. My only problem is do not fit toyota reversing sensors as they DO NOT WORK, other than driving you mad. Just make sure you have a passenger to check whats behind for you, that works better than the sensors.
Owned a 57 plate double cab from new. Very Tough reliable truck, absolutley no problems for 20,000+ miles, dealer was great. However the back end is very light (worse than other pickups i have driven) when unladen which became very apparent one night on the way home when it spun me into a tree head on at 60mph and rolled several times. I walked away with no injuries whatso ever, apart from a severley damaged ego. Great truck, not very forgiving if you get it wrong cornering but at least it will save your life if you do. Currently awaiting my replacement Hilux. Highly recommended vehicle.
i have a 2004 ex 270 d/cab 4x4 if the new model is as good as this you should buy one. i have had it 4 years serviced just once i check oil plus water and change oil every 15000 it as towed my 7.5 ton trucks loaded on several occasions only replaced brake pads twice in 50.000 miles that is all i have spent on it might not be as refined or prity as some of the other pick ups but if you want a work horse look no further ,
Just picked the car up several weeks ago and have done 1000 miles plus on a mixture of local and longer motorway journies, with one foray into the…
I've had the SDV6 XS for just over a week and cranked out a 100 miles per day since I've had it. I had a 2009 Disco 4 XS before that. Sadly I sold…
