The Audi A5 looks sportier than the A4 it replaces but at its core it remains a comfortable, practical and well-rounded executive cruiser. However, its interior no longer leads the class – the BMW 3 Series and 4 Series Gran Coupé have now taken that crown.
The trim
This mid-level trim comes with 19in alloy wheels, rear privacy glass, more aggressive exterior styling, a sportier steering wheel design and S badging.
The engine
This engine offers similar real-world performance to the more potent 45 TFSI petrol, but not enough of an improvement in fuel economy to justify its expense over a 40 TFSI. Its emissions aren’t that great for company car drivers, either.
