The model

The BMW i4 is fast (especially in M50 guise), comfortable and hushed at high speeds. Factor in a great infotainment system with a plush interior and it's a compelling alternative to a Tesla Model 3. However, the range isn’t as spectacular as newer rivals and it’s worth bearing in mind that the Model 3 is much cheaper and has full access to the Tesla Supercharger network.
The trim
Entry-level Sport trim gets you 18in alloy wheels, gloss-black exterior highlights, a sports leather steering wheel, sports seats, acoustic glass, a curved infotainment display, built-in sat-nav, cruise control and a parking assistant function.
The engine
This ‘entry-level’ rear-wheel-drive, single-motor model produces an impressive 335bhp, can sprint from 0-62mph in 5.7 seconds and has an official range of 367 miles. We suspect this will be the i4 to go for.
