The fully electric BMW i7 luxury limo has an astonishing range of tech, treats its passengers like royalty and is great to drive. If you do buy one, we think the eDrive50 version in entry-level Elegance trim is the smart choice.
The trim
M Sport models add black exterior highlights and 20in wheels for a sportier appearance. Whether or not it's worth spending the extra needed to get these things is a matter of personal taste.
The engine
In xDrive60 form, the i7 has two electric motors – one driving the front wheels and another the rears – that together pump out 536bhp. That’s enough for a 0-62mph time of 4.7 seconds, but you pay a sizeable premium over the entry-level eDrive50 model, which isn't exactly slow and gets the same 101.7kWh (usable capacity) battery.
