The model

The BMW iX1 is a practical choice and its performance is impressive, especially if you go for the four-wheel-drive version, the xDrive30. However, it's let down by a firm ride and so-so range between charges. Put simply, there are better electric SUVs available for the money. If you do buy an iX1, the xLine trim makes the most sense while the eDrive20 model has the longest electric range.
The engine
This is the more powerful iX1, and comes with the xDrive four-wheel drive system. Its two electric motors produce 308bhp for a 0-62mph time of 5.6 seconds.
