The BMW X7 is everything a big luxury SUV should be. It's supremely comfortable and quiet on the move, and its huge interior is as practical as it is sumptuous. We recommend the xDrive40i petrol engine and M Sport trim with – if you can stretch to it – the optional Ultimate Pack.
The trim
Even entry-level Excellence trim comes with plenty of luxuries, including air suspension, four-zone climate control, and heated front seats.
The engine
A brilliant 335bhp six-cylinder diesel engine which demolishes motorway journeys but is still hushed and smooth around town. The best all-rounder in the lineup, and it’s quicker than a Mercedes GLS 400d, too.
