You may have fallen for the DS No 8's unique style, but, other than its competitive range and generous boot space, there are few objective reasons to buy one. The similarly priced BMW i4 is both more comfortable and more enjoyable to drive, while the Tesla Model 3 is also dynamically superior, has a better safety rating, outstrips the No 8 for practicality, build quality, performance and charging speed, and yet costs considerably less. So, our recommendation has to be don't buy a DS No 8, and if you do, spend as little on it as possible.
The engine
This is a slightly more powerful version of the FWD 230 and comes with a bigger battery for a range of more than 430 miles. Despite producing 241bhp, the 0-62mph time and top speed are the same.
