Introduction

What Car? says...

The Genesis GV70 is by no means the first swanky large SUV to be launched into the car market – so is it worthy of your attention as a buyer? Well, if you like being pampered, then it probably is, yes.

You see, the GV70 is a luxurious high-riding SUV from a manufacturer with a premium remit. It’s pitched against rivals at the upper end of the its class, and has a simple engine range, plus three well-specced trim levels to choose from.

FAQs

  • We recommend the smooth but punchy 2.5-litre petrol engine with Sport trim. Sport trim includes lots of goodies as standard that make the GV70's interior one of the most luxurious in the large SUV class. Read more here

  • Genesis is the luxury arm of Hyundai – a brand known for reasonably priced, well equipped and reliable cars. So while the GV70 is not technically a Hyundai, it has a tangible link to the South Korean brand. Read more here

  • The GV70 is similar in size to the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Volvo XC60. However, because it is so competitively priced, we could see buyers comparing it against high-spec versions of the BMW X1 and Volvo XC40. Read more here

  • Expected resale values for petrol versions of the GV70 outperform those of the equivalent Audi Q5, BMW X3, Mercedes GLC and Volvo XC60. However, it’s worth keeping in mind that the GV70 sits in a high insurance group and will be expensive to fuel if you opt for the petrol version. Read more here
