Chery

Chinese brand Chery is, perhaps, the biggest car maker you’ve never heard of; although it only arrived in the UK in 2025, it sells more than 2.5 million cars per year globally.

In addition to models sold under its own name (which comes from the English word ‘cheery’) it owns the Omoda and Jaecoo brands. But while Omoda is targeting younger buyers and Jaecoo is designed to be a more premium offering, Chery itself is very much aimed at families.

All four of the Chery models that are either already on sale in the UK or confirmed to be coming here are SUVs.
