Despite an influx of cheaper rivals, including the MG's very own MG4 Urban (and a totally different car), the MG4 EV remains excellent value. That's because for the price it offers a really great electric range, strong performance, a roomy interior and loads of standard kit. It's not the comfiest EV, nor the most fun to drive, but neither is it poor in those areas. The only thing that is poor is MG's reliability record. Otherwise, the MG4 EV's a great all-rounder. The Long Range is the cheapest option but the Extended Range isn't much more and officially travels 338 miles a charge, so that's our pick.
