The Juke is strong in some key areas, such as safety and equipment levels, but there are more rounded, refined choices in the small SUV class. The Skoda Kamiq is one, and noticeably better if you’re looking for space or comfort, while the excellent Seat Arona is even cheaper to buy and far better to drive. Reliability is very poor, though, according to our most recent reliability survey.
The trim
The entry-level trim is the one we’d choose. It comes with loads of standard equipment, including 17in alloy wheels, rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, wireless phone-charging and lots of other goodies.
The engine
This entry-level engine is the one that we’d go for. It keeps the price down, and while it's not as strong as the equivalent engine in its rivals, it still gives you enough power to make good progress.
