The Skywell BE11 offers a reasonable battery range and there’s a good amount of space for the family, but it struggles elsewhere to make a convincing case as an affordable electric family SUV. It’s not good to drive, the infotainment system is frustrating to use, plus it's slow to charge. There are concerns over its safety rating, too, despite the recent addition of driver assistance tech. All of this means it's impossible to recommend the BE11 over any of its rivals.
The trim
The BE11 comes with 19in alloy wheels, LED headlights, wireless phone-charging, ambient interior lighting, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree reversing camera, part-leather seats, a panoramic sunroof and an electrically operated tailgate as standard.
The engine
All versions of the BE11 are powered by a single 201bhp electric motor, which means it can go from 0-62mph in 9.6 seconds. It also has a top speed of 93mph.
