Review

Go for the 1.0 TSI 95 SE model and you'll have bought a very fine, practical small SUV for a sensible price. Don't be tempted to go for higher trims and more powerful engines, because if you have that kind of money to spend we'd recommend looking at the T-Roc instead – it's only slightly more expensive and more sophisticated in many areas. The excellent Ford Puma is also more fun to drive.

SEL adds further creature comforts, including dual-zone climate control and tinted windows, but the hike in price is too great.

We haven't tried this engine yet.
