The Volkswagen Taigo is a competent all-rounder and an easily recommendable used buy. However, some of its small SUV rivals are more fun to drive and some are more affordable.
The trim
Mid-spec Match trim is our favourite, and includes 17in alloy wheels, keyless entry, a reversing camera, automatic LED headlights, rain-sensing windscreen wipers, electrically heated wing mirrors, adaptive cruise control and touchscreen infotainment kit.
The engine
Our recommended 113bhp engine is a good choice if you do lots of motorway driving, although its 0-62mph sprint time of 9.9 seconds is not particularly quick.
