£50k price tag for BMW M3

25 April 2007

BMW's new V8-powered M3 will cost £50,625 when it goes on sale in the UK this September.

The all-new M3 is now powered by a 420bhp petrol V8 instead of the previous in-line six-cylinder engine, and it's capable of powering the car to 62mph from a standstill in 4.8sec. Top speed is limited to 155mph.

Among the new features on the M3 are a carbonfibre roof to save weight, a regenerative braking system that charges the battery when the car is slowing down, and the MDrive system from the M5 and M6 models that allows you to personalise how the car drives.
