Toyota Auris: prices released

22 January 2007

Toyota's new Auris has been priced from £11,995, with orders taken from next month and first deliveries due in April.

The replacement for the Corolla is initially available in five-door layout from February, with three-door models following in April.

Two petrol and three diesel models are available, and there's a choice of four five trims from T2 to T180.

All models have nine airbags, active head restraints to minimise whiplash injuries and electronic brakeforce distribution, but only the T180 has stability and traction control as standard.

Every car in the range is fitted out with air-conditioning, electric front windows, remote central locking, electric door mirrors and an MP3-compatible CD stereo.

T3 specification is £1000 more than the entry-level T2 and adds alloy wheels, colour-coded door mirrors and handles, front foglamps, heated door mirrors, electric rear windows, leather steering wheel and gear knob and steering wheel-mounted controls for the upgraded, six-speaker stereo.

TR models are available for a limited period and cost £1000 less than the equivalent T3 car. They cost from £12,495 for a 1.6-litre petrol and £12,995 for the 130bhp 2.0-litre diesel. Although cheaper, these cars add scuff plates and chrome detailing to the T3's equipment levels.

T Spirit cars are also only available with the 1.6-litre petrol and 2.0-litre diesel, and only as a five-door. Priced £900 above a T3, they cost £14,895 for the petrol and £16,495 for the diesel. Equipment includes automatic headlights and wipers, dual-zone climate control, and cruise control.

The T180 three and five-door are the only models fitted with the 180bhp diesel and cost £18,295 and £18,795 respectively. A bespoke interior, larger 17-inch alloys and sunroof are added to T Spirit equipment lists.
