Toyota's new high-spec Avensis TR

04 June 2007

Toyota has introduced a new, high-specification trim to its Avensis line-up.

The Avensis TR has £1000-worth more equipment than the trim below it, the Avensis T3-X, but costs only £400 more.

Standard equipment includes a satellite-navigation system with a 6.5-inch touch-screen display, dual-zone climate control, and automatic headlamps and wipers. Front foglamps, all-round electric windows, and a leather-covered steering wheel are also standard. Petrol models have 16-inch alloy wheels, while diesel models have 17-inch alloy wheels and cruise control.

TR models are available in saloon, hatchback and estate models, and with three engines. There's a 1.8-litre petrol unit, or 2.0-litre and 2.2-litre diesel engines. The petrol version is available with an automatic gearbox.

Prices start from £17,495 and rise to £19,645, and the car is on sale now.
