Volkswagen is offering a three-year, fixed-price servicing plan to buyers of Fox, Polo, Golf, Golf Plus, Golf Estate, Jetta and Touran models.

The offer is open now and runs until June 30 next year. It covers routine servicing, which includesa service at 12 months/10,000 miles, again at two years/20,000 miles and a full service at three years/30,000 miles with oil and brake fluid change.

The Fox models will also benefit from a service, an inspection with oil and brake fluid change and a final oil service at the same intervals.

The plan can be transferred to a new owner if the car is sold before the plan ends.

Although offered through Volkswagen Finance, the offer is open to buyers using other means of payment.

The scheme has been introduced because Volkswagen is trying to claw back business for its dealers' service centres, which are perceived as being too expensive.

Earlier this year, it promised to match the cost of any service or repair job from independent garages for the same reason.
