L - Lip

Lip - The bottom ledge of the boot over which you have to haul cargo when loading. The lower the lip, the less strain on your back when lifting in heavy or bulky items. The worst arrangement of all for loading is when the car has a high load lip and then a drop down onto the boot floor.
