R - Run-out models

05 June 2006

Run-out models - These are model lines that are soon to be replaced by all-new cars or face-lifted versions. Dealers offer them at significant discounts to make way on the forecourt for new versions.

When it comes to balancing purchase price against resale value, buyers should remember to factor in a sharp drop in residual values on outgoing models as their replacements arrive.
