Features
The Young Expert Plus is an Isofix compatible version of the group one Recaro seat. The Isofix connections aren't integrated into the seat, so you fit the base into your car and then slot the seat into that. Like the standard Young Expert it's a nicely shaped seat with comfortable materials and a good headrest, but there are no reclining positions.

Ease of operation
The Isofix base is a little stiff and awkward to fit and it takes practice to locate the seat into the base. There are indicators to let you know when you have fitted the seat in the base properly, however. You can still use a seatbelt if you like but it's difficult to get the seatbelt taut. There are three height adjustments for the harness, and while you don't have to unthread any straps, you do have to lever out a bar and snap it back into position.

Buying
There's no getting around the fact that if you want Isofix then the costs stack up. The Recaro set up is a tiny bit more expensive than other manufacturer's seats, but only by a few quid.

Quality
The plastics on this seat and base feel good and strong but there's a slightly rough, agricultural feel to them.
