The 2013 Toyota Verso has been unveiled at the 2012 Paris motor show.

Design tweaks bring the seven-seat MPV in line with the Toyota's latest family look; there are also tweaks to improve the ride and handling, an upgraded cabin and lower emissions for the 2.0-litre diesel engine.

The exterior styling tweaks include a new grille that's set within a redesigned front bumper, while there's a new, larger badge that's set further down the bonnet.

Slimmer headlamps, with LED daytime running lights or optional high-intensity discharge headlights, give a more aggressive look.

A new rear bumper houses an integrated diffuser, while the rear light clusters have been updated with new colours for the centre and outer lenses.

Interior updates include a new satin black paint finish, chrome highlights around the controls, and the option of leather trim. There are new seat fabrics and designs, while the seats themselves get additional side bolster support. Toyota also says that better sound deadening will improve refinement.

The engine range consists of 1.6 and 1.8-litre petrols, which remain unchanged from the previous car's, while the existing 2.0-litre diesel engine has been updated, with CO2 emissions cut by 10g/km to 129g/km.

A new 2.2-litre diesel will also be available; producing 175bhp with a six-speed manual gearbox, or 148bhp with an optional six-speed auto.
