2015 Honda CR-V face-lift - prices, specs and on-sale date
Honda tweaks CR-V's styling and ditches 2.2-litre diesel for a 158bhp 1.6-litre unit, due on sale in March with prices starting from 22,340...
The face-lifted Honda CR-V was revealed at the 2014 Paris motor show. The popular SUV has received some minor styling changes and will also get a new diesel engine on four-wheel-drive models.
What is it?
An updated version of Honda's CR-V that has new headlights and foglights, as well as a new grille and bumper up front, while the tailgate, lights and bumper have all been redesigned. These styling changes will appear on all models.
What engines can I choose from?
A new 1.6-litre diesel engine will replace the 2.2-litre unit on four-wheel-drive models. The 1.6 is available with an optional nine-speed automatic gearbox.
The new diesel engine produces 158bhp and is available only with four-wheel drive. It's more efficient than the outgoing car, emitting an impressive 129g/km of CO2 in standard manual guise and 134g/km of CO2 with the new nine-speed automatic gearbox. Those figures are way down on the 2.2's 149g/km with a manual gearbox and 174g/km with the auto.
Official combined fuel economy ranges from 39.2mpg to 64.2mpg across the line-up.
Two-wheel-drive diesel CR-Vs continue to be powered by the 118bhp 1.6-litre i-DTEC engine from the outgoing car (which isn't related to the new 1.6), but emissions have been lowered from 119g/km of CO2 to 115g/km.
How much will it cost?
Prices for the facelifted CR-V start at £22,340 for the 2.0 i-VTEC in S trim and rise to £35,620 for the 1.6 i-DTEC in range-topping EX specification.
The most popular petrol model in the range, the 2.0 i-VTEC in SE specification, costs £26,780. The most popular diesel option, the 1.6 i-DTEC in SE trim with sat-nav, is priced at £28,740.
Can I get a discount?
Discounts of around 10% are available on the outgoing CR-V, so similar discounts may be available on the face-lift eventually.
What equipment does it come with?
Four trim levels are available on the CR-V, dubbed S, SE, SR and EX.
Standard equipment includes Honda's Multi Info Display, dual-zone climate control, cruise control and 17-inch alloys, while SE trim adds a leather steering wheel and gear stick, automatic lights and wipers, front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, Honda's Connect infotainment system and front fog lights.
SR specification features a leather and Alcantara interior, heated front seats, satellite navigation and larger 18-inch alloy wheels while top-end EX models get keyless entry, panoramic glass roof and a powered tailgate.
Anything else I should know?
Facelifted CR-Vs will arrive in showrooms in March 2015.
