The new Nissan Micra will be previewed with a new concept car at the Geneva motor show ahead of a 2016 launch.
The Nissan Sway concept, seen here in this first official picture, will heavily influence the new Micra with its styling and technology.
The new Micra is due to launch in August 2016. The new car will be radically different to the current car, which has been a failure for the company and not up to the standards of rivals such as the Ford Fiesta and Volkswagen Polo.
Nissan has promised the new car will be much more suited to European buyers, whereas the current Micra, which we rate as a one-star car, is aimed at global markets, with a greater emphasis on being cheap and cheerful rather than refined and of a good quality.
Full details of the Sway will be revealed in Geneva, where Nissan executives will also give more clues about the new Micra ahead of its 2016 launch.
