Alfa has confirmed that production of the 159 is winding down and will end in early 2012.
Both saloon and Sportwagon versions can no longer be ordered from the factory, but Alfa says that over 230 new vehicles are currently in stock in the UK.
Big savings are available if you haggle hard: we found a 159 2.0 JTDM 136 Turismo for £19,266 (including broker fee) at Motorlogix.com, a saving of £3234 on the list price.
The 159’s replacement – which will be called Giulia – has been delayed. It was originally expected to be launched during 2012, but it is now due in early 2014.
Alfa has no major launches planned for 2012, although it will unveil a Mito Twinair model early in the year.
There’s more happening in 2013, with the 4C sportscar due on sale by the spring, followed by a compact SUV that’s expected to share many parts with a new Jeep SUV.
A face-lifted Mito is due in late 2013, and the updated range will include a new five-door model.
