The Lexus CT200h has a neat touch when you switch driving modes (see entry below). In Normal and Eco modes the dash read-out has blue backlighting and there's a digital readout that shows how economical your driving style is.

Switch to Sport mode and the backlighting turns red and instead of the eco driving style display, there's a rev counter. So at a glance you know which mode you are in.

Just as the cold weather starts, we've had a set of winter tyres fitted to the CT200h, and in the process I sampled the excellent customer service for which Lexus is renowned.

After arranging the details with Lexus Twickenham, someone came to the office to collect the car and then brought it back when the tyres were fitted. This is standard Lexus service. I was pleasantly surprised by the bill, too - £594.60.

The CT has four driving modes - electric, eco, normal and sport. Most of the time I use normal - it's the default mode from start-up - but I'm finding it useful to pop it into sport mode at roundabouts or coming out of junctions.

Most of the time I'm happy with the car's power, but the extra oomph sport provides makes joining a roundabout or coming out of a junction that much easier.
