Vauxhall Zafira Tourer review - What is it?
Vauxhall's original Zafira was truly ground-breaking because it was the first compact MPV with seven seats. In fact, its Flex7 seating was such a leap forward that nobody – not even Vauxhall's own engineers – had come up with anything better by the time the second-generation car was launched, six years later.
Fast forward another six years to the present day and it's a very different story. A new generation of MPVs, including the Ford S-Max, Peugeot 5008 and Seat Alhambra, has made the Zafira and its once-revolutionary seating feel distinctly dated. The Zafira Tourer is Vauxhall's response.
It's longer and wider than the regular Zafira, which will remain on sale as a cheaper alternative (albeit with a limited range of engines). However, the thing that really sets the Tourer apart is its classier and more flexible cabin.
