Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is recruiting 1000 extra workers for its factory in Solihull - after a 26% jump in its global sales.
The extra jobs - which will boost the workforce by 25% - are needed to fulfil JLR’s ambitious plans to launch 40 new or face-lifted models over the next five years. Tata, JLR’s owner, is investing billions in new products to support the plans.
The investment is already showing returns. JLR has recorded huge increases in demand for its products, especially in emerging markets such as China and India.
JLR's global sales in September increased by 26% compared with the same month last year, while business in China rose by 157% during the same period.
Des Thurlby, HR director at Jaguar Land Rover said: ‘This is great news for Solihull. These jobs are well paid with great benefits. We provide high quality training and development for all our employees and we expect to receive many thousands of applications.’
The recruitment campaign, which launches today, is looking for production operators and skilled trades people. For more information, visit: www.jaguarlandrovercareers.com/Solihull
