Jaguar Project 7 to appear at Goodwood

The Jaguar Project 7 is an F-type-based concept car that is taking centre stage for the manufacturer at the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The Project 7 takes its styling cues from Jaguar's racing history, with the fairing behind the driver's head inspired by that of the classic racing D-type.

Other changes over the F-type include a new front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser. The blue paintwork is in homage to the 1956/57 D-types, while the name pays tribute to Jaguar's seven Le Mans victories between 1951 and 1990.

It isn't just a static display it will head up the hill on all three days, powered by its 542bhp 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine.

In addition to the extra power, the Project 7 also comes with a free-flow exhaust system with a ceramic finish, a 10mm lower ride height and a unique suspension setup. It sits on 20-inch Blade forged-alloy wheels with carbonfibre inserts.

There is only one seat in the Project 7, is a composite bucket seat that sits 30mm lower than in the standard F-type. The passenger seat is replaced by a helmet holder.
The seat and the insides of the doors are finished in a quilted racing-style diamond pattern.
