Mazda and the Hydrogen Highway - Introduction

13 July 2009
Mazda has been developing hydrogen-fuelled cars for 18 years, but started commercial leasing of the vehicles in Japan only this year.

You can't get hold of them in the UK yet, but dual-fuel hydrogen and petrol RX-8 REs are being supplied to the HyNor project – a road network in Norway, that has seven hydrogen refuelling stations along its length.

We went to Oslo to try the RX-8 RE, along with a new hydrogen-electric hybrid version of the Mazda Premacy RE (the Premacy is sold as the 5 in the UK).
