Toyota Land Cruiser: driven - How much?

Article 4 of 4 See all
  • Great off-road ability
  • Cabin looks dated already
  • On sale now, from £29,795
At £29,795, the entry-level LC3 model is cheap for a big 4x4. Standard equipment includes climate control, Bluetooth and alloy wheels, but if you want leather trim, electric seat controls, satellite-navigation and those flashy rear seats, you need to pay a £10,600 premium for the LC4 model.

If you can afford that much, it's probably worth finding the extra £4400 for the LC5 version, which adds the full range of off-road tech, an electric sunroof and a rear entertainment system. LW

Multi-terrain Select
The Land Cruiser's Multi-terrain Select system works in much the same way as Land Rover's Terrain Response, tailoring the way the throttle and braking systems react according to which of the four off-road surface settings you select. 'Mud and Sand' allows more wheel slip to let the wheels to dig in, for example, whereas 'Rock' cuts slip to a minimum to keep the tyres clamped to the surface.

Our verdict
A no-nonsense 4x4 that'll go the distance
