This is Audi's radical-looking urban concept car, which will be unveiled at the Frankfurt motor show next month.
The car is small and lightweight, and designed specifically for congested city roads. Audi says it ‘combines elements of a racing car, a roadster, a fun car and an urban car.’
The urban project is not related to any current model. The body is made from carbonfibre-reinforced polymer (CFRP) and has protruding 21-inch wheels covered by ‘protective plates’ which include strips of LED lights. A red strip – similar to the ‘side blades’ on Audi’s R8 supercar – stretches over the concept car’ roof and sides.
The cabin has a ‘1+1’ layout, with a passenger seat mounted behind and slightly to the side of the driver’s seat. There’s no adjustment for the seats, which are integrated into the car’ structure. The driver can adjust the steering wheel and pedals to get comfortable, though.
