The Subaru Impreza saloon could be making a comeback in the UK

A new, more aggressive Subaru Impreza WRX saloon could be on its way to the UK.

The manufacturer is showing wider-bodied versions of both the saloon and hatchback at the New York motor show next week.

Although there are no plans to bring the cars to the UK, Subaru's importer, International Motors Group, says it's looking at the viability of bringing the four-door model into the UK.

The Impreza saloon has been sold only in hatchback form since 2007.
